In the summer of 1988 I started collecting Heteroptera leaf bugs and other insects around the Swiss nuclear power plants Gösgen and Leibstadt, in the canton of Aargau. The number of disturbed insects astonished and shocked me. I started to paint many of them in simple watercolor sketches in order to capture as many as possible in one image.
