Fukushima

Takayama
I wanted to see how insects and most of all true bugs (Heteroptera) fared in irradiated areas.
I did not want to enter the 20 km exclusion zone as I was more interested to see how the true bugs fared in areas where people still have to live. Takayma 364 km distance from Fukushima Daiichi, the most southern point where radioactive cloud had reached on March 15th 2011. I found an average variety of species. Among 53 true bugs and 21 leafhoppers, 3 true bugs were damaged.
